Robert Tyrrell
Until 1997 Bob Tyrrell was Chairman of the Henley Centre for Forecasting. After selling the company to WPP he left to develop a chain of restaurants (La Table du Pain) in Belgium and France. Since returning to the UK in he has worked as an independent consultant, author and broadcaster.
From 2002-2006 he was a trustee and then Chairman of Demos, the independent public policy think tank. From 1994-2002 he was Visiting Professor in Marketing at the City University Business School. From 1997-2001 he served as an advisor to the Conservative Party and during this time wrote his pamphlet on political scenarios for 2010 “Things can only get … different” (published by the Centre for Policy Studies).
He has been a presenter of the BBC Radio 4 ‘Analysis’ programme, a member of the European Advisory Board of the Global Future Forum, a non-executive director of Archial Group plc and sat on the Vision Board of Sapiens UK Ltd.
He specialises in analysing and interpreting the implications of social change and runs the Real Trends service in association with Ipsos Mori – amongst their clients are the Cabinet Office, Tesco, Heinz and Cadbury. He is involved in marketing and fundraising for a number of charities, is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Market Leader, the journal of the British Marketing Society, and an Association Member of BUPA.
He is a graduate at St Peter’s College Oxford, where he gained an MA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics. He took an MSc (awarded with Distinction) in Social Philosophy at the LSE.
J. M. Barry Gibson
Barry began his career in 1970 at Littlewoods Plc and held several positions, including Store Manager, before joining the Burton Group in 1979. In 1991 Barry was appointed to the BAA group board, and was responsible for the introduction of BAA outlet malls into the UK and the creation of BAA subsidiary World Duty Free. Barry is the Senior Independent Director of both William Hill plc and of National Express Group plc and a non-executive director of Homeserve plc.
Louize Gibson
Louize is our Insight Specialist, conducting in-depth consumer research to ensure that everything we do is designed around the needs of the people who will visit, use and enjoy the places we create. She has worked in qualitative research for over 20 years, first at Hauck Research and then the strategic marketing consultancy Added Value. She has helped us with positioning, finding the right tenant-mix, and growing our retail brands since 2002.
Richard Pike
Richard brings a wealth of corporate finance expertise to Milligan and advises us on all aspects of our corporate finance operations. Richard is currently Group Operations and finance director of Bridgemere UK plc. Previously Richard has held a variety of corporate and operational finance roles in Scapa Group plc, Pilkington plc and most recently at Manchester Airports Group plc where he was Group Finance Director. Richard brings considerable multi sector and international experience in acquisitions, joint ventures and disposals. Throughout his career he has driven continuous improvement and restructuring plans to help increase business profitability and has refinanced over £1 billion of debt facilities.
